The Third Annual Yarchei Kallah: YK2000
Third International Retreat on Jewish Medical Ethics

Join us from August 16 - 23, 2000 in Jerusalem in a stimulating Yeshiva environment of chevruta (partner) learning and shiurim (lectures). YK2000 will take place in the comfortably air-conditioned Beit Midrash of Boys Town in the Bayit Vegan neighborhood of Jerusalem.

Experienced and enthusiastic talmidei chachamim will be paired with the participants for the entire week. And as in the previous Yarchei Kallah of 1998 and 1999, a distinguished and highly learned rostrum of rabbinical authorities will deliver in-depth analyses of current issues in Jewish medical ethics.

The main planned topics include:
Abortions, multi-fetal reduction
Pikuach nefesh and Shabbat
Medical treatment and "placing obstacles before the blind"
Open sessions for questions and answers

Nightly lectures will be presented on the following topics:
Organ transplants from live donors
Brain death
Smoking and self abuse
Surrogate motherhood
Assisted reproduction technology
