Harry WeinerMr. Harry Weiner was born on February 22, 1905 in Brezno, Poland, and died on July 13, 1997, at the Woldenberg Living Center, New Orleans, Louisiana. Mr. Weiner immigrated to New York City at the age of five. After training in business and industrial design he founded General Slicing Machine Company Inc. and served as the company's treasurer, sales manager and finally president before retiring in 1972. After his retirement he lead the New York office of the Service Corps of Retired Executives. Mr. Weiner received many honors and awards from his peers in the housewares industry at home and abroad. Mr. Weiner lived in Brooklyn, New York until 1940 and in Spring Valley, New York, until 1952 when he moved to Newburgh, New York. He retired to Manhattan in 1972 where he lived until he moved to New Orleans in 1994. He leaves two children, Walter H. Weiner, President of Republic National Bank of New York, and Roy S. Weiner, Director of the Tulane Cancer Center. He had 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. His wife of 43 years, Sylvia Friefeld Weiner died in 1972 at age 62. His son Sidney died in 1993 at the age of 61. Walter and Roy Weiner January 19, 1999
